A Senate Investigation has been leaked which reveals that the diabetes drug Avandia is linked to tens of thousands of heart attacks by its users. The 334 page Senate Report was signed off by both the senior Democrat and Republican on the Senate Finance Committee. The report also revelaed that Avandia's manufacturer, GlaxoSmithKline, knew of this risk for years but kept them from the public. The report also criticized the Food and Drug Administration because of the agency overlooking or overriding concerns raised by their own staff members. This report is the result of a two year investigation by the committee in which more than 250,000 documents were reviewed.
